The Heritage Helps project is dedicated to assisting visually impaired individuals whom have a difficult time accessing online content and locating benefits online. We have created a resource library for tools to make browsing the web and using a computer more accessible to those who have vision difficulties.

This page is dedicated to listing resources and software that can aid you or someone you know that is visually impaired when using a computer. Below are a list of utilities that turn text to speech, enlarge your screen, narrarate, dictate and make surfing the web much easier for anyone who has vision difficulty.

Virtual Magnifying Glass 3.5	Virtual Magnifying Glass is a free, open source, cross-platform screen magnification tool. It is simple, customizable, and easy-to-use.
ICONICO Magnifier	Ever needed to see what's going on on the screen down to the pixel level? That's where the Magnifier comes in. Simple and easy to use, the Magnifier is always handy for when you need to see all the details.
ICONICO EasyRead	If you're frustrated at Internet Explorer not allowing you to view webpages at the size you want then you'll appreciate the EasyRead Toolbar Buttons. The EasyRead toolbar buttons allow you to magnify any HTML page as you browse the web.
FoxVox	FoxVox is a text-to-speech add-on (extension) for the Firefox web browser, offering voices in many languages. FoxVox enables Firefox to read out web pages to you aloud, a talking browser.
ClaroRead SE	The ClaroRead ® SE literacy support tool for PC and Mac provides a simple discrete toolbar that will lock onto any software application that is open and active. This software is an ideal screen reader for anyone who can see and control the mouse.
BrowseAloud	BrowseAloud reads web pages aloud for people who find it difficult to read online. Reading large amounts of text on screen can be difficult for those with literacy and visual impairments.
JAWS 13	This is a powerful screen reader program for people who are blind. It uses an integrated voice synthesizer and your computer's sound card to output the content of your computer screen to speakers. JAWS supports web browsers fot internet access, e-mail programs, word processors, spreadsheets, presentation software, web development tools, database management software, and much more.
SuperNova Screen Reader	Developed for blind computer users, SuperNova Screen Reader is a software screen reader that works by reading the screen interactively and communicating through a speech synthesiser or a refreshable Braille display.
TextAloud	TextAloud reads text from email, web pages, reports and more, aloud on your PC. TextAloud can also save your daily reading to MP3 or Windows Media files ready for playback on your iPod, PocketPC, or even on your TV with Tivo's Home Media Option. WebAnywhere	WebAnywhere is a web-based screen reader for the web. It requires no special software to be installed on the client machine and, therefore, enables blind people to access the web from any computer they happen to have access to that has a sound card.
