BookShare Online
Bookshare is a free online digital book store with over 180,000 titles with hundreds added every month. These free downloads are exempt from the federal copyright laws if you meet the requirements of membership. Much like the National Library Service discussed above, you will have to fill out a registration form with proper certification (signature from your doctor or optometrist on form confirming you are visually impaired).

Bookshare members download books, textbooks and newspapers in a compressed, encrypted file. Then, they can read the material using adaptive technology, typically software that reads the book aloud (text-to-speech) and/or displays the text of the book on a computer screen or on Braille access devices, such as refreshable Braille displays.
